I began to notice years ago that the restriction and eradication of hunting from public lands gives English aristocratic vibes.

Outstanding reporting on the Santa Rosa precedent. The Setnicka whistleblowing detail is crucial here becuase it shows NPS had data proving minimal impact but proceeded anyway. What really gets me is the hunting prohibition excuse while simultaneously deploying aerial gunfire, that contradiction is almost darkly comedic. The geneticsolation point Vail made about preserving breeding stock is something conservationists would normally champion.

Once they ban hunting it’s obvious what comes next. The culling that is done through hunting keeps herds managed and animals fearful of humans. The stupid migratory bird law is costing millions here in NJ. Canadien geese aren’t allowed to be hunted under this law and now they are no longer migrating and destroy ponds in parks from their defecating The pond in one of little town park had to be dredged because it went from about 6 feet deep to almost shallow to the water from their crap. Instead of shooting the geese and making them fearful of humans. They get nasty and chase after people just walking around the pond and you can’t defend yourself if you kill one going after you as that’s a big fine. The problem is lifelong politicians and bureaucrats run these parks agencies and never consult those who know best. Thought things would change under Trump. Guess not.

The oddest part is the sequence:

“No prescribed burns.”

“More forest.”

“More deer.”

“Oh no, too many deer.”

“Deploy sharpshooters.”

We couldn’t just do the boring part?

The no prescribed burns is beyond infuriating, completely unscientific and wildly unnatural, as without people to suppress fires, they would occur regularly. It’s wreaking havoc on tree populations, which are dying of insect and fungal infections, both known to be controlled by regular fires, across the country.

This is absolutely disgusting!

Cruel and wrong.

Evil at work.

How dare they !

Our Government agencies at work yet again!

All about seizing peoples land and taking control!

It is utterly sickening !

In the late 1960's through the 80s we used to go to Catalina from Oceanside on our family sailboat. As kids, we'd sneak onto the island, (sans permit!) to go for hikes and look at the boats moored in the coves from on high. We were vigilant in watching out for the animals, notably the feared Javelina Boars that our parents warned us about. One summer, while walking with two friends along the dirt road above Emerald Bay, we rounded a curve to come face to face with the biggest bison we'd ever seen! It started to run toward us but we climbed up the steep side of the hill just in time to watch it thunder past!

I learned somewhere later that bison were probably left there by Hollywood movie makers after filming movies. We went to Catalina for many years and I never saw large herds of any type of animal roaming all over the island.

I'm saddened to learn of this impending destruction of an entire population of mule deer when managed hunting could control any potential over population. This action makes no sense at all.

I thought the Trump administration was going to deal with out of control agencies like the NPS…

Look, there can be no way for islanders to support themselves with meat from the islands. This is part of the depopulation agenda. Where does the food come from when no more food comes to the island? Taking away any food source from the people is the underlying goal. In the light of all the corruption and lawlessness among the elites and so called rulers, this is just another slap in the face of people who are unable, or unwilling to stand up against such perverted agendas.
