Don’t they have better things to do? I’m on the blue side and this is infuriating.

This is unconscionable as it is reported. The government has a responsibility in these cases to work with cooperative individuals especially with respect to legacy rights and boundaries that are bound to be uncertain. It recalls for me another story published by Roy Reed in the 1980's a former correspondent for the NY Times. Titled 'Vernon McCall and the Government' (Looking for Hogeye 1986) it outlines similar abuses by the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. Clearly this has been going on for some time.

Hopefully the courts or their congressman will sort out this abuse. Congress should make mediation the law in these cases. That being said I would like to hear what the Forest Service thinks happened.
