The Endangered Species Act is a perfect example of the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Congress never intended it to be used to stop projects and put people who work the land out of business. It has been turned into a weapon - a very effective weapon - to lock up public land and lock out any use thereof.

The ESA must be (at a minimum) defanged if we are to remain a free people.

How do we fix this. I know - drain the swamp. But this abuse of the ESA and forest service. How can we help these ranchers?

In the meantime, the ESA must include all NM cattle and sheep ranchers on their "endangered species" list, and why not? If non-existent jumping mice are important, so are the humans that actually live on the land. High time all of this punitive lawfare was tossed into history's shitcan.

Great article! ESA was meant for good but it seems as of late it’s being used as push out tool.

Hi Keely: My book is called California's Water Crisis - Do You Smell a Fish? Agenda 21 / now Agenda 2030.

You may be able to get a used one on Amazon, but I am my own publisher, so it is best to get it from my website - Booksfortruth.com. Chapter 7 is all about the Endangered Species Act - 37 pages. I tell how it got started, its terrible abuse of power, the indoctrination of our children in the public schools to totally support the ESA and to become little activists themselves. I tell of the many draconian, faulty rulings it has made. I show pictures of some of the species that were "dead or endangered" and they have been now found and are thriving. Only God knows how many species he has created and where they are. These environmentalists are using the ESA to play God and pretend that they know how many species are supposed to be in a certain area, and if they can't find them all there, then they are declared "endangered," but it it the farmer and rancher and anyone else who owns property where these species are found. The farmer and rancher become the true endangered specie, and they are giving up more and more and moving away into the cities, exactly wheat the agenda was all along.

Having done much research and written a book on this subject, I believe the Endangered Species Act was never designed to protect species, but to get ranchers and farmers off their land. The animals and plants that are supposedly declared "endangered" are often the most plentiful species around, so the environmentalists can wreak havoc on a multiple variety of property owners. The ESA is not based on any exact science but BS (bad science.) They pull their statistics down from the sky. The best thing that could be done to truly help the environment would be to scrap the ESA, shred the paper that it is written on and spread it out on the ground for compost.

Mr. Barber, please ask New Mexico’s US senators and representatives for a comment for this article and share it with the readers.

This is a violation of the Kings Forest clause of the Constitution. The government was never meant to have that power
